Adam Gilbert is Partner & Head of Corporate & Commercial at Else Solicitors in Burton on Trent.

Prior to joining Else, Adam worked as a specialist in-house commercial solicitor at a well known high street retailer. He has also worked for two other top UK law firms, Harvey Ingram (now Shakespeares) and Shoosmiths.

Over the five years that Adam worked in-house, he gained an expert understanding of the application of commercial law and its wider profit-making opportunities from the perspective of a leading decision maker within a business.

Adam has considerable experience in handling business mergers and acquisitions, disposals, corporate re-organisations, company share buy back, management buyouts, venture capital and private equity investment, and joint venture and partnership agreements.

He is also very accomplished in contract law, possessing vast expertise in drafting business contracts, website terms and conditions, goods agreements, services agreements, logistics agreements, and IT contracts.

  • Multi-million pound acquisition of an optician’s business by a well known chain of opticians.

  • Acquisition by a well known high street shoe retailer of the business and assets of another high street shoe brand.

When Adam is not being kept busy running around after his two young children, he is a keen DIYer and can often be found building, decorating or knocking something down at the weekend. Adam enjoys relaxing by walking his two dogs, watching the rugby or the Formula 1.
