Else Solicitors teamed up with ADS Accountancy Limited and Marketing Consultant, Harriet Coppock to complete the National Three Peaks for local charity – Star Foundation.
The locals businesses’ wanted to join forces to raise awareness and £2,000 sponsorship for Burton based charity – Star Foundation.
Star Foundation work with local schools and clubs to purchase sports, art and music equipment improving the lives of youngsters within the Burton community. The charity also helps other local community projects to provide support for young people and assists them in realising their potential.
Pete Tryner, founder at Star Foundation commented,
“The £2,000 raised through this challenge will be put towards to costs of providing a mini bus to transport young people from schools to our new academy where they will receive free martial arts, fitness and music sessions through Star.”
Inspired by the ethos drilled into the children who are involved in the Star Foundation “Conceiving, Believing and Achieving”, Head of Marketing at Else Solicitors and challenge participant Kate Henderson explains the intensity of the National Three Peaks;
“After a grueling start with Ben Nevis in Scotland and then a long drive to Wasdale in the Lake District, the team were feeling like we were on the back foot as we started our climb up tricky Scafell Pike at 10.30pm. We completed the mountain at 3am and hot footed it to Wales for Snowdon, our final climb. Kicking off at 10.30am we made it to the top in 3 hours and enjoyed a celebratory beverage at the top of the peak before trekking back down the mountain (along with all the fell half, full and ultra-marathon runners…) and finally heading back to Burton.”
The challenge is dubbed the ‘most iconic and testing team challenge activity in the UK’. With a total walking distance of 23 miles, ascent of 3064 meters and a combined driving distance of 462 miles, it’s not difficult to see why.

“The National Three Peaks is not for the faint hearted, training is essential and you must have an experienced guide to ensure your safety. We were lucky with the weather, but even in summer the conditions on a mountain range can change very quickly. It’s a wonderful experience but one you must be completely prepared for.
Many of us have said we will never walk a hill of any kind ever again, others were inspired and ready for the next challenge. But none the less, we did the challenge as a team and completed our mission in raising awareness and sponsorship for the charity”
