Else Solicitors, together with Ginho Europe, National Forest Adventure Farm, LCS Containers, Pattrn Data and Abode Estate Agents, recently held a Charity Cricket Day in support of YMCA Burton.
22 players and spectators enjoyed a game of cricket at Dunstall Cricket Club, raising over £1500 for the charity.
Chris Else, Managing Partner at Else Solicitors, said;
“YMCA Burton helps so many individuals and families across the East Staffordshire area. Their housing sites help homeless people get back on their feet, improve their wellbeing and to move on to permanent housing. Their foodbank helps anyone who is suffering from food poverty, as well many other services. I believe the best way to raise funds for charity is to engage with businesses and have an enjoyable day out and the cricket event provided just that! Despite me being awarded a duck!. We are already making plans for next year’s Charity cricket event”.
Paula Senior, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager at YMCA Burton, added;
“We are thrilled to hear the Else Solicitors cricket event raised over £1500 for YMCA Burton. We loved being part of such a great day; the sun was shining and the teams played some great games.
We want to thank Charlotte and Chris at Else Solicitors for organising a fun event, Dunstall cricket club for hosting & your generosity, VIN-X, the raffle sponsors and to the teams who played – which was made up of local businesses. You have all contributed to changing lives and helping those in need in our local area.”
The day was a great success and enjoyed by everyone. Wickets were taken, sixes were hit out the park and three ducks were awarded, but most importantly there was plenty of laughter and team spirit whilst raising much needed funds for YMCA Burton who, now more than ever, are seeing unprecedented need for the services they offer, in particular the Food Bank. The winning team included players from Else Solicitors and Ginho Europe.
Shaun Gray, European Managing Director at Ginho Europe, Commented;
“A brilliant day, such fun and inclusivity for all levels of cricket ability even first time German players! The venue, games and food were all excellent, a great team building and networking event and all while raising money for the local YMCA, Ginho will be back to defend our tile along with the guys from Else”
We hope you can join us next year. For those who want to get involved sooner, we have our annual Golf Day on the 23rd July at Branston Golf & Country Club. Please do contact Charlotte if you would like to register to play or can help us with sponsorship. More details on the work of YMCA Burton can be found here www.burtonymca.org
