Kathryn specialises in and heads up Wills and Probate. Kathryn has been working as a private client solicitor since qualification and is also a member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Kathryn has considerable experience in advising on and drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, advising on Deputyship applications, all aspects of estate administration including drafting probate papers and Deeds of Variation, and advising on, drafting and administering trusts, including personal injury trusts.

Kathryn’s most notable work includes:

  • Providing a full administration of taxable estates in excess of £1 million.
  • Providing advice and drafting a trust to hold company shares worth in excess of £1 million.
  • Drafting and executing trusts to hold pension funds in order to save inheritance tax.
  • Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and providing advice for families with disabled children.
  • Providing inheritance tax advice for those with taxable estates and helping to put those plans into action where appropriate.
  • Using Discretionary Trusts in Wills tp help protect and control assets and protect vulnerable beneficiaries.

  • Providing advice and drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney for both property and financial affairs and health and welfare.
  • Advising on and preparing applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy.
  • Advising on and providing practical assistance for each stage of the administration of an estate, whether or not a Will has been left.
  • Advising on and preparing Deeds of Variation.
  • Advising on and drafting a variety of trust deeds, including providing the appropriate tax advice.

Interests

Kathryn is an active member of the Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club and is a keen viola player, having performed with the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys reading and is a board game enthusiast when her children give her time!
