The event which took place at the Burton Rugby Club saw 7 teams play knock out games where the top 4 teams went through to semi-finals, leading to the all-important final with Branston Golf & Country Club and Abode Estate Agents competing for the trophy. Branston Golf & Country Club were triumphant on the day, taking away the trophy for a second year running, congratulations to them.
Well done to runners up Abode Estate Agents and thanks to all the teams that took part on the day, including teams from Nuvo, Knott-Avonride, Hardy Signs, Air IT and Else.
Else Solicitors Charity Football Tournament was held in aid of Burton YMCA and raised £650 from the day which included a raffle and donations.
Paula Senior from the YMCA commented:
“It was a wonderful day on Friday. Everyone was there to enjoy the tournament, play football and the atmosphere was brilliant. Great team spirit from all the businesses who participated this year and thanks to my colleagues, team colleagues & supporters for popping by to cheer on the players. We are experiencing huge demand across all of our services currently. These include housing, mediation, counselling & the community foodbank. Sincere thanks to Chris Else, Charlotte & Georgina for all their efforts to organise & manage the day. Thanks to everyone who participated, supported the raffle, or sponsored the event & raffle prizes. We could not continue to provide the vital services we offer without the support of others. Thank you.”
Chris Else added:
“A good day out was had by all at the Burton YMCA 6-a-side held at the excellent Burton Rugby Football Club facility at Battlestead Croft. Branston Golf & Country Club worthy winners again albeit marginally and a new challenger is required for next year’s Tournoi.”
