Friday 22nd November, volunteers and award nominees from across Burton on Trent piled into Burton Albion Pirelli Stadium for the Trent & Dove Housing Impact on the Community annual awards ceremony to celebrate the great work happening across the town.
Else Solicitors managing partner – Chris Else and the firm were nominated by an employee to acknowledge the firms ‘generous and ‘can-do’ attitude towards supporting the community’ in which the Burton based law firm was born and grown over the past 16 years.
In the last full financial trading year, Else Solicitors have raised a staggering £9000 for local initiatives and causes through taking part in activities such as the YMCA Burton Sleep out, organising charity fundraising events including ‘Das Futbol Tournoi’ and golf days which have all contributed to the overall fund raising figure for the year.
As well as raising money, the firm have set up business community groups such as ‘DE14 – Networking with Neighbours’ to develop and nurture strong relationships within the local professional arena.
Leaders within the firm actively encourage the team to get involved in a range of wider initiatives such as attending the town’s sporting events and community project activities, supporting health initiatives such a blood donation and donating food to the local food bank or warm supplies for the local animal shelters.
On the night, for all these reasons and more, the awards sponsors – Hardy Signs, Adam Bates announced the decision to award Else Solicitors with the ‘Overall Impact on the Community by a Business’ Award.
Chris Else, Managing Partner at Else Solicitors accepted the award and commented,
It’s great to have been nominated for this award by one of our team. We do believe that we have a responsibility to care for our community and use our connection and influence to support positive change and impact across the town. This year has bene particularly brilliant, with the completion of the National Three Peaks, bake offs, ‘fundays’ and so much more. Roll on 2020!
