Burton & District Chamber of Commerce Charity Quiz

Local businesses fought tooth and nail to win the Burton & District Chamber Charity Quiz on Tuesday 11th December at the Pirelli Stadium.

With over 100 tickets sold, ‘on the night’ donations and monies raised through raffles and competitions, the event raised an impressive £3500 for three local charities, namely the YMCA Burton, Love Inspire Foundation and Burton Albion Community Trust.

Each organisation provides an invaluable service within Burton and its surrounding areas. The YMCA Burton aim to provide a supportive and safe environment for the homeless in East Staffordshire. Love Inspire Foundation, offer emotional and practical support and advice for those in need, they also provide interview clothing for people looking to further their career prospects and school uniforms for children. And, the Burton Albion Community Trust which aims to inspire, engage and educate anyone and everyone through football.

With chief organiser, Pam Wallis (Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce), quiz master, Richard Lloyd (CMC Partners) and MC, Andy Rudkin (Else Solicitors LLP) in charge of merriment and profile raising for each charity, attendees were almost guaranteed to have a smashing time whilst learning more about the fantastic work the chosen charities do within our local community.

To ensure the event raised as much money as possible, the following businesses also sponsored the event, LH Electrical, Ginho, Quardros Financial Solutions, CMC Partners and Alexander Accountancy.

Chris Else, Vice Precedent of Burton & District Chamber of Commerce commented,

“On behalf of the Burton Chamber, I’d like to thank all those involved in organising, attending and sponsoring Tuesday night’s charity fundraiser. The event raised a large amount of money which I know will go a long way in supporting the fantastic work these charities do locally. It was brilliant to see so many familiar and new faces supporting this event and we look forward to welcoming you to future Chamber activities.

But, more importantly who will take the 2019 winners title off the current champs, Hasta La Visdata Baby?”
