Else Solicitors Sponsor Nigel Owens MBE Dinner

Else Solicitors was proud to be the lead sponsor of a sporting dinner held recently featuring an after dinner speech by rugby referee Nigel Owens MBE.

The dinner was attended by over 120 local business owners and professionals who gathered to hear Nigel talk about his life, which also included many funny stories related to his career in rugby.

Held in the banqueting suites at Burton Albion, the evening was a great success. Else Solicitors also presented each guest with a souvenir bottle of real ale brewed locally by  Burton Bridge Brewery who kindly offered to personalise the bottle label with Else branding.

The best bitter, “Tickle Brain” was brewed for the event and was “perfect for those long after dinner speeches by Welsh blokes with stories about odd shaped balls!”

A deliberate spelling error caused some additional humour and some free beer for a lucky winner who spotted the error. ELSE BREWS RUGBY PJH

Nigel Owens MBE is a Welsh rugby union referee. He started his career as a referee in 1987 aged 16, and on 15 April 2017, he celebrated his 150th Pro12 appearance. In May 2007, Nigel publicly came out as gay and the reaction has been mainly supportive.
