Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club’s first female President

On Tuesday 25th June 2019, President, Brian Wall of Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club officially handed over the title and ceremonial chain to Kathryn Caple, Solicitor and Head of Wills & Probate at Else Solicitors. Surrounded by fellow Rotarians and guests, Kathryn formally accepted the role and began her formal duties.

Kathryn has been a member of the Rotary for five years. In 2016, she was elected as a future president where she embraced her three year commitment with both hands. In year one and two Kathryn earned her stripes as junior and then senior vice president which has prepared her nicely for the role as President this year.

Kathryn commented,

It is a huge honour to be elected as the first female President at Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club. We have worked hard over the years to raise a substantial amount of money for Charities locally and further afield.

To have my husband and two boys by my side during the official presentation was a very special moment. I think it is important that (where possible) my young family can come along for the ride, get involved and experience, first-hand, the great work organisations such as Rotary are doing.

I have also had (and continue to receive) support from Chris Else, Managing Partner at Else Solicitors who actively encourages employees to get involved with community focused initiatives. I am confident that with the support of my family, work colleagues and of course Rotarians, we shall continue to go from strength to strength in our endeavours during my role as President.

Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club are celebrating 32 years of bringing people together and supporting charities locally, nationally and internationally. True to all Rotary Clubs they follow the motto, ‘Service above Self’ meeting weekly at the Hilton House Hotel (DE65 5GP) in order to discuss and plan their initiatives to raise money for charity.

Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club are a local club, part of a UK (www.ribi.org) and an international (www.rotary.org) movement with over a million members in more than 200 countries. It is an organisation where any member can visit any club and be sure of a warm welcome.
