FUNdraising Day at TL Darby

Else Solicitors, TL Darby and Commonwealth and Olympic boxer Frazer Clarke host FUNdraising day in memory of local student paramedic, Tammy Minshall & support for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Local professionals are teaming up to create a community lead FUNdraising day at the local car dealership.

Nicola Holmes, Corporate Manger at TL Darby explains,

“Else and TL Darby were already planning a charity event, scheduled for late summer when Tammy, my very close friend, was fatally injured in an accident doing a job she loved. She was just weeks off finishing her first year of training as a paramedic. We decided we wanted to use the event to remember Tammy and raise some funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity that airlifted Tammy in the aftermath of the tragic accident but also an organisation she aspired to work for.”

The FUNdraising day has been arranged to involve the business and local community with a collection of activities and events to bring everyone together.

Frazer Clarke, Commonwealth gold medalist and 2020 Olympic super-heavy weight boxer is supporting the event, commenting;

“Many locals have been touched by the death of Tammy. She was a local girl who was known and loved by many. The circumstances in which she died, responding to a 999 call, make her death even more tragic, but she died doing a job she loved.

It is important that we come together as a community to recognise the dedicated service our first line responders do to keep us safe, risking their own lives to protect and help others. I think, that’s why so many people are keen to support this event.

The team at Else and TL Darby have pulled out all the stops to make this a great event for professionals, locals and children. I’ll be there to talk to youngsters about my experiences as a boxer and hopefully inspire them to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals, in the same way that Tammy did.”

The event has been heavily supported by local businesses with donations to a raffle with top notch prizes, sponsorship of activities including competitions and challenges for all. ‘The DE14 Bake Off’ is also set to return as businesses battle it out for the highly coveted ‘DE14 Bake Off’ trophy which currently resides with 2018 winners – Wilo. All the homemade bakes (sweet and savoury) will be available to buy on the day.

There is an open invitation for all to attend in order to raise as much money for the Midlands Air Ambulance as possible, the admission is free of charge and everyone is welcome.
