Else Solicitors’ Founding Partner Qualifies in Online Mediation

Chris Else, founding Partner of the award-winning, Burton-based law firm Else Solicitors, has become one of the first people in the UK to gain a new accreditation as an online mediator. This qualification further enhances his reputation as a qualified mediator with more than 25 years of experience in helping businesses settle disputes with as little disruption as possible.

Chris said: “At a time when managing conflict in the workplace is becoming increasingly challenging for many businesses, I am very pleased to have gained this new accreditation which endorses our ability to provide online mediation services. Mediation is quicker and less expensive than taking legal action. By offering mediation services online we can help our clients to settle business disputes and disagreements even more quickly, with greater convenience and reduced costs.”

Chris was hand-picked as one of just 24 professionals from across the UK to take part in a pilot training scheme leading to the new accreditation. The course was run by ADR Group – national and international experts in dispute resolution training – over nine months and covered online mediation techniques using video conferencing software, tablets, smartphones and other online applications.

The CBI (Confederation of British Industry) estimates that conflict takes up 20% of leadership time and results in the loss of up to 370 million working days through absenteeism and lost productivity.

“Mediation offers an informal, structured process to help those locked in a dispute to find a way forward with the minimum of disruption to business,” said Chris. “It can be organised rapidly – often within days – and it is in tune with the realities of life in business today. It also gives all parties a useful breathing space to think about how a situation could be put right without resorting to legal action.”

Anyone who is currently facing a business or civil dispute, and considering mediation or online mediation as a way of solving it, is urged to get in touch with Chris Else on 01283 807555 or email chris.else@elselaw.co.uk.
