YMCA Food Bank Donation

Managing Partner, Chris Else, meets Paula Senior from Burton YMCA

Else Solicitors have been collecting for the YMCA over the last few weeks and are delighted to have met with Paula Senior from Burton YMCA to hand over the donations.

Burton YMCA ‘believes that everyone deserves a place to call home and to be supported in times of crisis’.  Else Solicitors has a commitment to support the local community and this is a great way for us do so by donating to this worthy cause.

Christmas is a difficult time of year for many people and this year even more so.  A growing number of families in the Burton area rely on food banks to help them get through the week.  Between 1st January and 31st October this year, Burton YMCA gave out 1,771 emergency food parcels.  This is in an increase on previous years, highlighting that there is very much a need for this service.

Each emergency food parcel provides enough food for 3 days and can be collected from the YMCA, Reconnect building between 9am and 7pm with no referral required.

Chris Else, Managing Partner at Else Solicitors said “Else Solicitors have supported Burton YMCA for several years and the support offered by the YMCA to the homeless and people in need is vital.  Seeing people being made homeless and having to sleep rough is something that we are keen to eradicate in Burton and hopefully our small contribution will both highlight the problem and assist with a solution.”

Paula Senior, Burton YMCA commented, “We are delighted that the staff at Else Solicitors have chosen to support our foodbank again this Christmas. The collection was fantastic and we had received some non-food donation to support rough sleepers who access our services. Our foodbank is open for anyone in need and people can self-refer. We are open 365 days a year and based in Burton town centre. If anyone would like more information our number is 01283 547211. Thank you also to Chris Else and his team for the kind donation of £111.47 and your on-going support of our work.”

Food banks cannot operate without the generosity of the local community and Else are pleased to be able to play their part.
