During December staff at Else Solicitors have been collecting for the food bank and today Chris Else and some of the team were joined by Paula Senior and Isabelle Winter from YMCA Burton to hand over the donations.
From the start of January to date, the food bank has already provided 216 emergency food parcels, and this figure has already exceeded the total amount of parcels issued during January 2021. This is a vital service so please donate if you are able to do so.
The food bank is experiencing record use, with up to 12 parcels being handed out daily! Each emergency food parcel provides enough food for 3 days and can be collected from the YMCA, Reconnect building between 9am and 7pm with no referral required.
As a firm, Else Solicitors are committed to supporting the local community and feel YMCA Burton is a great way to do this. January is a hard month for many and with ‘Blue Monday’ being only 2 days ago, we hope these donations go a small way to help those who need it.
Chris Else, Managing Partner at Else Solicitors said “Else Solicitors have supported YMCA Burton for several years and the support offered by the YMCA to the homeless and people in need is vital. Seeing people being made homeless and having to sleep rough is something that we are keen to eradicate in Burton and hopefully our small contribution will both highlight the problem and assist with a solution.”
Paula Senior, Burton YMCA commented, “We are delighted that the staff at Else Solicitors have chosen to support our foodbank again, the collection was fantastic. Our foodbank is open for anyone in need and people can self-refer. We are open 365 days a year and based in Burton town centre. If anyone would like more information our number is 01283 547211.“
Without the generosity of the local community, food banks cannot operate, and the Else team are pleased to be able to play our part in supporting this worthy cause.
