Else Solicitors Support Rotary Club Initiative

Three members of the Else Solicitors team are actively involved in raising money for local charities around Burton on Trent. Our Head of Wills & Probate, Kathryn Caple, and Wills & Probate Paralegal, Yolanda Ride are members of the Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club. Kathryn attended the presentation of “Ruby the Rotary Horse” to Scropton Riding & Driving Centre. Previously, Yolanda has attended the Tree Sale to raise Club funds. The Tree Sale Raised its target, and the Rotary Club plans to do another sale 8th-10th December 2017 near Derby Royal Hospital Staff Car Park.

Kathryn was joined by the Rotary Club District Officer, John Cavey, whose committee approved a £1000 matching Foundation Grant towards the costs of buying Ruby. Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club raised the remainder of the funds. The aim is to have Ruby available to proved safe and enjoyable riding and driving activities for attendees of the Riding & Driving Centre.

Scropton Riding & Driving Centre welcomes riders and drivers of all standards, abilities and ages. Its excellent facilities, experienced staff and friendly atmosphere cater for riders and drivers from beginners to advanced. The Centre is also the home of Scropton Riding for the Disabled.

A cake was made in Ruby’s honour and Scropton Riding & Driving Centre made a lovely saddle blanket with the Rotary  Club name embroidered on the side.

Meeting Ruby followed weeks of preparation by volunteers to paint and prepare her stable ready for her arrival.

Founded in 1987, Etwall & Hilton Rotary Club is a voluntary organisation based in the village of Hilton in South Derbyshire. The club meets weekly to raise money for local charities. It is part of a UK (www.ribi.org) and an international (www.rotary.org) movement with over a million members in more than 200 countries. It is an organisation where any member can visit any club and be sure of a warm welcome.
